Innovative
Approaches to Integrated Return Planning to Nigeria and Kosovo
In
support to the Austrian Ministry of Interior (BMI), NEXUS carries out
targeted research and analysis is a feasibility study related to encouraging
sustainable voluntary return of migrants to Nigeria and Kosovo by
introducing an innovative private-sector component.
The objective is to
directly link individual interests and professional skills of potential
returnees residing in Austria with the commercial interest of private sector
actors planning to initiate or expand their activities in Nigeria and
Kosovo. The project is co-financed by the EU under the European Return Fund
2008 and the Austrian Ministry of Interior.
NEXUS
will produce a practical
feasibility study, including specific plan of action, on how return
migration can have a positive impact on development – for instance through
innovative, public-private partnerships encouraging and supporting durable
returns

A model for an
‘’Employment Exchange Facility’’ to be developed, which supports and
facilitates practical cooperation, development and business opportunities
by the following means:

Provide support to
Austria-based enterprises with an interest in operating/expanding in
Kosovo and Nigeria, through identification and recruitment of potential
employees, with clearly defined professional skills and training
profiles, amongst potential returnees |

Inform potential
returnees from the target groups regarding employment opportunities with
the enterprises mentioned above, and in their countries of origin |
 |
Provide advice on
existing education programmes and training facilities facilitating the
above process |
